In the third picture, I a;most see the log floating on top of the embers .The orange flame is is bright, but seems soft when infused with with the shadows and swirling smoke off the embers. Dramatic and beautiful!
Wow how close were you to that fire? I'd be worried my camera would melt ;) It must be nice and toasty warm in your home! I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas! I can't imagine a Christmas with a fire in the background. Unless the fire is coming from a BBQ :)
You have brought back happy childhood memories when we children used to fight the dog to see who could get closest to the fire. The dog always won. Have the most wonderful Christmas.
I long for a fireplace in my little pink shack...some day...I want to write prose by the crackling embers and dream of days gone by...and dream of a permanent retirement...that's a joke!!!

When the elders come,
they will peer into the fire
and foretell your fate.
My Shadows
I love watching the fire, it is our favorite entertainment while camping. Here, at our primary home, we have only a gas fire. It's just not the same.
Those are beautiful. I can almost feel my hands warming up!
Fires are a must this time of year. You've captured it beautifully!
Fire Fire Fire

Have a great ShadowShotSunday

Have a wonderful holiday...stay warm!
oh how beautiful, I love watching fires...
your photos reminded me of childhood, when the bedroom fire was lit when I was ill, and I would see things in the embers!
Nothing like a warm fire on a cool autumn night!
I wanna be near that fire place, I am cold right now hehehe.
My first time participating
So warmth.
My SSS can be found here. Merry Christmas!
There is nothing like staring into the fire! Lovely shots this week - perfect for the season!
