Skywatch - Capital skies

Some dark foreboding clouds hovered over Edinburgh castle, but that figure of light soon chased them away.

Looking down over the chimmney pots of Frederick Street towards the River Forth and the Kingdom of Fife. I so often forget Edinburgh is a coastal city.  I love to be reminded with a glimpse like this.
Check out our planetary skies at Skywatch every week..

What beautiful pictures. We went through Edinburgh last Feb, on our way to Inverness-shire to stay with an old schoolfriend. We loved going over the bridge, I would have liked to have stayed longer there and I've put it on my list of places I want to visit when the children are older!

Thanks for stopping by, Jacqui! Maui is a gorgeous place, but the volcanoes are beyond spectacular. You would love that island.

The castle itself looks foreboding! I was there once in the 1950s and, at the time, it was cold and daunting. Still, looking out through small, barred, windows, the landscape was rugged and beautiful. It is always good to hear from you.

Lovely view across the Forth, with that strong Westerly that's almost blowing the flag at the Castle off its flagpost.

These are great photos. They are both very different, but both are amazing.
I´d love to visit Scotland some day.
Happy skywatching:-)
